1. leave + sb./sth. + prep. phr. （介词词组或副词词组做宾语补足语）
把……留在/丢在/丢给……；导致……（状态）
Chris left a message on your answerphone.
I don’t want to leave my mother at home on her own.
She left the children with a friend for the afternoon.
Don’t worry – just leave everything to me.
The previous government left the economy in ruins.

2. leave + sb./sth. + v-ing/v-ed（分词词组做宾语补足语）
让（留下）某人做某事；让/导致某事处于某种状态（参考have、keep、make）
Salter drove off, leaving Callendar surveying the scene.
索特尔开车走了，留下加林达继续调查现场。
She declared the meeting closed, leaving many problems unsolved.
她宣布会议结束，留下很多问题尚未解决。
Kate’s sudden departure left usall wondering whatwas going to happen.

3. leave + sb./sth. to do（不定式做宾语补足语）
把某件事留给（任由）某人去做（allow someone to continue doing something there）
I’ll leave you to get on with your book.
我会留下你继续看书。
Leave questions of guilt or innocence for the jury to decide.
把罪与非罪的问题留给陪审团去裁决吧。
Wherever ants go,they leave a chemical trail for other ants to follow.

4. 掌握动词leave的意义：
宾语补足语形式多样，分词宾补的判断取决于它和宾语的关系。
注意一个难点：be left/kept/made/found等被动式后再接宾补。
